As mentioned above, solar energy might just be the most abundant sustainable energy that can be found in almost all parts of the world. Particularly strong in tropical countries where the strength of the sun is at its fullest, solar energy can be harnessed through solar panels. For example, in the Philippines, solar panel installations can be found in the roofs of houses, and on top of offices to take advantage of the strong sunlight that can be utilized. Solar energy systems have some of the more complex systems when it comes to generating electricity.


Wind Energy

Just like how the old ships with gigantic sails use the wind to propel the ship through the sea, the wind is also strong enough of a force that it can be used to generate electricity through windmills. In most countries where there are consistently strong winds, companies are already in the process of commercializing energy generated from them. As compared to the complex systems that solar energy systems have, windmills have a simpler system, relying on the kinetic energy that is generated by the windmill spinning.


Hydroelectric Energy

Almost 70% of the Earth is covered in water. And even within the greatest land masses, there will still be bodies of water. When on the move, these bodies of water can generate tremendous forces. These forces are what is being utilized by hydroelectric dams to generate electricity. Hydroelectric energy makes use of the gravitational potential of elevated water that is trying to find its way back to sea level.


Geothermal Energy

The very core of the planet is extremely hot because of radioactive decay from the very creation of the Earth. The heat within the planet that can be utilized in certain parts of the world can be used as another source of energy. The high temperatures are enough to boil water, forming steam. And the steam will be the driving force to make a turbine spin and generate electricity.
